....News....
After playing rock music around New England as the rhythm section
for The McDonough Band for the last 10 years, Gerard McDonough and
Dave Smith have branched out in a new direction. When
The McDonough Band went on hiatus at the end of 2009, The Acoustic
Experiment was born, and with the addition of Rob and Chris, they
hope to expand their horizons.
Blending an upbeat
vocal oriented sound with string instruments and percussion, they
try to stretch the boundaries of what acoustic music can be.
Original songs, eclectic covers, lush harmonies and rise from the
dead dynamics highlight the live shows as well as the new CD "Sticks
n Strings "
The Acoustic Experiment looks forward to more recording and finding
the right venues to present their material..Thanks to all for
support and encouragement !!!!!
As many of you know, The McDonough Band is on hiatus. Paul is currently working on a solo project, and Gerard has released his first solo CD, 'Idiot Proof'. Currently, Gerard and Dave are touring their combined project, The Acoustic Experiment, and will be releasing a CD soon entitled 'Sticks and Strings'. They have been playing gigs locally, and will be announcing more dates soon, with potential venues including Perks' in Norwood MA, Finnegan's Wake in Walpole MA, and possibly as far away as Austin Texas, and Patawawa Ontario Canada. Please check in frequently, as we will be posting any news and updates when they become available. Also, check out Gerard and Dave's video on YouTube, '2 Girls, 1 Cup' using the link below and as always, feel free to leave messages on the Guest Book. |
